On Saturday, October 25, 2008, we decided to take a trip to Mount Vernon. We got there a little earlier than we expected (which never happens), and so decided to stop at MVNU and see our friend, Felipe. It was fun to update with him on how he was doing, although we were quite jealous to find out that he had been invited by a friend to go to the OSU/PSU football game that evening!
"Look at these big leaves, I found Felipe!"
As we were leaving MVNU, Averi actually asked to wear her sunglasses which is definitely a first!
Next, we went to our friends' daughter, Elizabeth's soccer game. It was a typical first grader soccer game of "huddle ball", if you know what I mean.
Elizabeth got to kick a corner kick!
Elizabeth's brother, Josh, tried to help keep Averi off the field during the game.
Finally it's my turn to play with the ball!
Then we went back to our friends' (the Walchles) house and just hung out all afternoon talking and watching football. Lisa made some awesome peanut butter cookies with a piece of Hershey bar on top of each one which we all enjoyed.
I don't know what it is about Mount Vernon, but the pace of life just seems slower or something, and we always just have such a fun, relaxing time when we are there!
